past event

Recap

This discussion brough together leading academics in the planning and design fields all of whom have been awarded grants through the Mellon Foundation’s Initiative for Collaborative Studies in Architecture, Urbanism, and the Humanities. This 10th Anniversary event provided a forum for researchers to share learnings from their Mellon-funded programs and discuss the importance of building interdisciplinary networks and projects to examine cities, design, and society. Eugenie Birch, Co-Director of Penn IUR, Lawrence C. Nussdorf Professor of Urban Research and Education Professor, Department of City & Regional Planning, School of Design, University of Pennsylvania, lead an open dialog with the audience discussing upcoming projects and exciting ideas that the Humanities, Urbanism, and Design (H+U+D) Initiative has in store.
