Feeding Cities Photo Exhibition Opening

In conjunction with its international symposium, Feeding Cities: Food Security in a Rapidly Urbanizing World, Penn IUR hosted a photography exhibit which featured images examining various aspects of food security submitted by members of the Penn community spanning students, faculty, staff, and alumni. To open the exhibition, a panel discussion examined photography’s role in social research and explore the line between research and art.

Invited speakers included: Joshua Mosley, Professor and Chair of the Department of Fine Arts, School of Design; Carolyn C. Cannuscio, Assistant Professor of Family Medicine and Community Health at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and the Veteran's Administration Medical Center; Laura Zarrow, Project Director of the Wharton Innovation Group; Dr. Anu Vedantham, Director of the Weigle Information Commons at the Penn Libraries; Aaron Levy, founding Executive Director, Slought Foundation; and selected individuals whose photography is included in the exhibition. The exhibition ran from March 7 through March 21, 2013.
