Recap

On December 9, Ken Steif, MUSA Program Director[LB1] ; Founder, Urban Spatial, explained the geospatial analysis techniques he used in investigating the impact of a vacant land greening program on housing and public safety outcomes. This project used placed-based administrative data from Cleveland, Ohio to estimate the effect of a nonprofit-led, vacant land greening intervention on such outcomes as home prices, tax delinquency, building permits, burglaries, and aggravated assaults and simple assaults. He concluded the lunch by talking about the intersection of research and practice to help prepare the students as they enter their final semester and begin their capstones.
