At Habitat III, Penn IUR exhibited the research projects and publications highlighted in this Habitat III Exhibition Catalogue. These works, which emanate from the Institute and from faculty across the university, exemplify multidisciplinary scholarship from the University of Pennsylvania related to the goals of Habitat III and the New Urban Agenda. The Penn IUR projects collected here demonstrate our commitment to leading and contributing to diverse research that informs sustainable development in rapidly urbanizing places as well as in established cities. These projects and publications have generated new knowledge and facilitate the exchange of best practices across the globe. The faculty-led projects included in the exhibit come from the disciplines of architecture, anthropology, city planning, historic preservation, landscape architecture, public health, medicine, sociology and urban design. They are just a small sampling of the work being done across Penn’s 12 schools to achieve sustainable urbanization locally and globally. Visit our exhibition page here.
