Master of Urban Spatial Analytics (MUSA)

The MUSA (Master of Urban Spatial Analytics) degree is a 9-month master’s program coupling spatial analysis skills—most notably Geographic Information Systems (GIS)—with substantive knowledge in an urban content area of the student’s choosing. These include: criminology, design, economic and community development, education, local and state government, public health, real estate, urban land use planning, social welfare, transportation, and urban demography. While there are many university programs offering certificates in GIS, Penn is the only university in the U.S. to integrate spatial analysis with multiple disciplines. The program is administered jointly University of Pennsylvania Weitzman School of Design and the Penn Institute for Urban Research. For more information on the MUSA program, please visit the MUSA page on the Weitzman School of Design website. For more information about the program, please contact the Program Director, Elizabeth Delmelle.
