Perry World House formally opened on September 19-20, 2016, with two extraordinary days of events. The Grand Opening program included panel discussions with renowned experts at the intersection of academe and policy, highlighting the inaugural research agenda of Perry World House’s Global Innovation Institute. It also featured a Global Policy Forum on the future of U.S. foreign policy with prominent academics and policymakers from around the world, keynote lectures by distinguished global leaders, and a ribbon cutting ceremony with University of Pennsylvania President Amy Gutmann. Penn IUR co-sponsored an event on the theme of “Urbanization, Migration, and Demography,” with Eugenie Birch, Co-Director, Penn IUR and Devesh Kapur, Director, Center for the Advanced Studies of India (CASI).
