Perry World House, Global Forum

As the world’s urban areas grow rapidly, so do questions about how to ensure a future that is inclusive and sustainable. The New Urban Agenda is an action-oriented document adopted by the UN to help ensure collective prosperity. But at a time when national priorities are often uncertain, can the implementation of this global framework actually reach the local level and can it be done quickly enough to prevent expanding inequality and irreversible environmental harm? Perry World House, Penn IUR, the Department of Africana Studies, and the Africana Center invite you to join us for an event featuring remarks by Dr. Aisa Kirabo Kacyira, Deputy Executive Director of UN-Habitat and UN Assistant Secretary-General, and a moderated conversation with Dr. Kacyira, Anne Fadullon, Director of Planning & Development for the City of Philadelphia, and Penn IUR Faculty Fellow Bill Burke-White, Director, Perry World House.
