Adijared Huerta Flores is a junior and first-generation Chicana from Cudahy, California, studying Political Science and Environmental Studies with minors in Urban Studies and Latin American & Latinx Studies. Her interest in cities began in Southeast Los Angeles, where lead contamination and a jet fuel dump pushed her into organizing with city councils and environmental organizations. She has interned at TECHO in Buenos Aires and Philadelphia Legal Assistance, and served on SEPTA's Youth Advisory Council for the West Philadelphia region. At Penn, she leads the Collective Success Network chapter, co-chairs the Earth Science Undergraduate Advisory Board, and is a part of the Latinx Coalition, the CLALS Advisory Board, and the Undergraduate Assembly. She is especially interested in how cities protect their most environmentally exposed residents.
