Shivaek Venkateswaran is a senior at Penn majoring in Biology and Health & Societies with minors in Statistics & Data Science. His academic interests center on healthcare payment and delivery reform, specifically how realigning payment incentives can increase the uptake of high-value preventive care, improve chronic disease outcomes, and lower system costs. Much of his work has been at the city level: he founded the Philadelphia Lung Cancer Screening Initiative, which partners with community leaders and health systems to strengthen early detection and trust in care. Outside of class, Shivaek is active in research and student government and serves as a campus tour guide.
