PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA – November 9, 2015 –The Penn Institute for Urban Research (Penn IUR) and the Penn Wharton Public Policy Initiative (Penn Wharton PPI) are pleased to announce “Housing Finance Reform: Where Do We Go From Here?” an event that will bring together economic experts and policy researchers to discuss housing finance reform and the challenges that lie ahead for rebuilding this key sector of the U.S. economy.
The event will be held on November 10th in Washington, DC, and will lay out a roadmap for reforms intended to achieve the goals of liquidity, stability, access and sustainability. The event will cover topics addressed in the forthcoming volume Housing Finance Reform: Principles of Stability, edited by Susan Wachter and Joseph Tracy and scheduled for publication in Spring 2016. Topics include liquidity, macroprudential mortgage-backed securitization and the TBA market, affordability and access, and the legislative context for housing reform.
