Event Recap
A performance presented by the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, in partnership with Penn IUR and several others, Marc Bamuthi Joseph’s spoken word/hip hop performance, red, black & GREEN: a blues (rbGb), explored how citizens of urban communities respond to the environmental issues rooted in their own neighborhoos.
About the show: Marc Bamuthi Joseph is the creative mind behind this multi-media, interactive piece of spoken word/hip hop theatre. Through poetry and movement highlighted by an installation set constructed entirely of repurposed materials, red, black & GREEN: a blues (rbGb) explores how citizens of urban communities respond to environmental issues rooted in their own neighborhoods. Vibrant and highly experiential, rbGb invites you out of your seat and onto the stage to interact and experience the work on a new level—one that is as “smart and provocative as it is breathtakingly beautiful” (San Francisco Chronicle).
