A Penn delegation will join world urban leaders in Abu Dhabi for the tenth session of the World Urban Forum (WUF10), the world’s premier conference on urban issues. The Penn delegation includes Penn IUR Co-Director Eugénie Birch; Mark Alan Hughes, Faculty Director, Kleinman Center for Energy Policy (KCEP); James Mensah, Penn IUR Fellow and Lecturer, University of Ghana; Mauricio Rodas, former Mayor of Quito, Ecuador, and joint visiting fellow at Penn IUR, KCEP, and Perry World House; Cory Colijn, Executive Director, KCEP; and Penn IUR Managing Director Amy Montgomery. On February 9, the delegation will jointly host a panel with the UK Urban Ecology Forum featuring Birch, Hughes, Rodas, and Mensah titled “Joining Forces: Planning, Managing, and Financing City-Climate Resilient Infrastructure Grounded in Nature-Based Solutions” from 2–4pm. On February 10, the delegation will host a discussion on Penn research on urban issues at the Habitat UNI booth from 11–12pm.
