Dr. Allison Lassiter is an Assistant Professor in City and Regional Planning. Her research and teaching develop transformative methods for managing urban water supplies in the context of climate change, from “smart water” technologies, to water system finance, to watershed-based governance. She currently focuses on evaluating the threat of sea level rise and increasing salinity to drinking water systems, identifying preferred climate adaptation alternatives, and creating tools for improving uptake and implementation of the best alternatives. She complements her research by participating in national and global policy conversations, such as an EPA Water-Finance workgroup and UN Framework Convention on Climate Change National Adaptation Planning. Her work is supported by the National Science Foundation, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, GEO-Microsoft Planetary Computer Credits Program, and others.
