Aziza Akhmouch is head of the the Cities, Urban Policies and Sustainable Development Division at the OECD. In this role, she oversees a multidisciplinary team supporting national and local governments worldwide in designing evidence-based urban policies that enhance quality of life while addressing the social, economic, and environmental dimensions of urbanization. Her work integrates policy analysis, data-driven research, and knowledge exchange to foster innovation and capacity building She has contributed extensively to international dialogue, comparative research, and peer learning. She spearheaded the first-ever OECD Principles on Urban Policy, oversees the OECD Champion Mayors for Inclusive Growth Initiative and founded the OECD Urban Days as a multi-stakeholder policy forum to find common solutions to common problems.
