Catherine Brinkley

Dr. Catherine Brinkley is is a One health planning expert and an Associate Professor in the Department of Human Ecology, University of California. Dr. Brinkley completed her Ph.D. in Regional Planning at PennDesign and her Veterinary Medical Degree at the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School in 2016. Her research focuses on human, animal and environmental health, including Nature Based Solutions. She has worked with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations to assess food access and waste management in low-income nations and is a former Fulbright Fellow. To improve transparency in the planning process and bolster peer-to-peer learning, her lab recently launched a landmark planning tool: PlanSearch.caes.ucdavis.edu. This search engine allows the public to access and read across all of California's comprehensive plans.
