Joyce Lee is a senior from Boston, MA majoring in Health & Societies and Biology, with a submatriculation in the Master of Public Health program at the Perelman School of Medicine. She is interested in health equity, urban epidemiology, and trust-building within the infrastructure of care. On campus, she serves as a Personal Patient Navigator at Penn Medicine and leads UNAIDS at Penn, where she works to destigmatize HIV and collaborates with the HIV/AIDS Clinical Trials Unit to expand access to PrEP and other prevention strategies. Joyce is also a research associate at the Netter Center for Community Partnerships, evaluating Mental Health First Aid in West Philadelphia schools as a model for community-based crisis response.
