Michael Tabb is Director of Corporate Real Estate at Google. Michael is responsible for developing Google’s real estate strategies and executing all real estate transactions in a manner that maximizes the Value and the Optimization of the Company's real estate portfolio in the Americas.
Before Google, Michael founded and led Red Rock Global, developing it into one of the most creative and successful full service commercial real estate firms in the United States. Previously, Michael served as a group manager and portfolio manager in the Asset Management group of LaSalle Partners (JLL) and as The Coca-Cola Company’s Director, Real Estate Asset Services, responsible for all of Coca-Cola’s real estate activities worldwide.
Michael also proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a public affairs officer and as a surface warfare officer. Over his thirteen years of active and reserve service, he served as the Navy Office of Information’s Director, Plans and Policy (OI-50), and deployed to the Mediterranean twice, supporting Operation Desert Storm and serving as an Assault Boat Group Commander. He also served on the USS El Paso’s (LKA 117) in roles as the Main Propulsion Assistant and Assistant First Lieutenant, receiving the Navy Commendation Medal and five Navy Achievement medals.
Michael is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy where he received the Superintendent's freshman Color Plebe award and a senior year leadership award for his service as the Chairman of the Brigade Social Affairs Committee. At Navy, Michael played Sprint Football and ran indoor track. He is a graduate of the Navy's Thermodynamic Engineering School, the University of Oklahoma's graduate course in Organizational Behavior and Management, and an MBA recipient from The Wharton School, where he was the 2000 Robert Toigo Foundation Alumnus of the Year.
Michael is an Advisory Board member of the University of Pennsylvania’s Institute for Urban Research, a member of PENN’s James Brister Society, a founding member of the Real Estate Executive Council, the Chairman of the Global Diversity Summit in Commercial Real Estate, an alumnus of the Robert Toigo Foundation, and a member of the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors and the Navy League. He is also a Lieutenant Commander in the U. S. Naval Inactive Reserves and a licensed real estate broker in multiple states. Michael is a proud father of three and husband of 28 years.
