Tanisha Agrawal is a sophomore studying Political Science and Computer Science. With roots in Mumbai and Philadelphia, her interest in urban research stems from witnessing firsthand the effects of rapid urbanization on public health and cultural identity. She first became interested in urban health while biking through Mumbai’s neighborhoods with a decibel meter, measuring the impact of construction noise on residents. Her research now explores peace processes and data-driven policy, with a focus on equity in city planning. As a reporter for The DP, SNF Paideia Fellow, University Scholar and member of Penn’s Undergraduate Assembly, she brings a global, interdisciplinary perspective to leadership and civic engagement. Tanisha is especially interested in how cities can grow sustainably without leaving communities behind.
