Managing Urban Stormwater and its Influence on Building a Sustainable, Resilient City

Penn IUR Fellow Howard Neukrug and Penn IUR’s Laura Barron have just published an article titled “Managaing Urban Stormwater and its Influence on Building a Sustainable, Resilient City” in The ISOCARP Review 12. The publication aims to guide planners, public officials and interested readers through a series of topics which illustrate the characteristics of sustainable cities. It then provides more detailed articles about some of these attributes, such as biophilic designs, improved infrastructure, governance tools and emerging city and regional planning trends. This issue of the ISOCARP Review grew out of the latest ISOCARP Congress, which was themed “Cities We Have vs. Cities We Need.” ISOCARP describes it as “both a description and prescription for a new urbanism that must adapt and mitigate significant environmental, social and economic change.
