Led by Penn IUR Faculty Fellow Charles Branas, the Penn Urban Health Lab produces scientific evidence for the effective design and implementation of health and safety programs via randomized controlled trials, mobile biosensing, space-time metrics, field observation, and community engagement. Projects include studies of health and safety as they relate to abandoned buildings, green stormwater infrastructure, urban vacant lots, asbestos remediation, and land reuse, among others.
