Matino Pesaresi has worked for the EC Joint Research, Institute for Protection and Security of the Citizen (IPSC), Global Security and Crisis Management Unit, since 2004. He was the Global Monitoring for Security and Stability (GMOSS) Network of Excellence in the aeronautics and space priority of the 6th research Framework Program, then became the Team Leader for the “Information support for effective and rapid external action” (ISFEREA). He now is the scientific leader of the GLOB-HS and E-URBAN projects utilizing remote sensing technologies for fine-scale systematic analysis of human settlements, respectively at the global and European level. Dr. Pesaresi is a graduate in Town and Regional Planning from IUA Venice. His research focused on remote sensing, spatial statistics and urban analysis.
