Associate Prof. Yang Chunxia is Ph.D., Doctoral Supervisor, College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tongji University. She is Senior Member of the Chinese Architecture Society, Director of the Urban Design Branch of the Chinese Architecture Society, Member of the Urban Design and Planning Professional Committee of the Shanghai Architecture Society, Shanghai Pujiang Talent, National First Class Registered Architect, and the First Batch of Rural Architects in Shanghai. Her main research areas include urban design and its theory, waterfront urban design, and behavioral simulation analysis. Her main course "Urban Design Review and Case Study" is a Demonstrative English Course for Foreign Students in Shanghai Universities, and has been awarded the title of National Excellent Student Work Guidance Teacher three times.
She hosted one National Natural Science Foundation project, one National Social Science Foundation project, three provincial or ministerial level projects, and five other projects. She published a monograph titled "Urban Cross River Morphology and Design", published an English textbook titled "Case Study and Criticism of Urban Design", and served as the deputy editor in chief for the "Urban Design Practice Tutorial", which was selected as a textbook for the 13th and 14th Five Year Plans of the Civil Engineering Discipline of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development. She has published over 90 papers in journals. She was interviewed by the editor in chief of Liberation Daily twice, providing suggestions for the construction of Shanghai's waterfront area and appearing in the newspaper. She hosted and participated in more than 30 urban design projects, which won 4 national excellent urban and rural planning and design awards, and more than 10 provincial and ministerial level design awards. The results of the research on the construction standards of the public environment on both sides of the Huangpu River won the second prize of the 6th Shanghai Decision Consulting Research Achievement Award.
