Qin Bo

Dr. Bo Qin is a professor of urban planning and management at the School of Public Administration and Policy (SPAP), Renmin University of China. Currently he serves as the Associate Dean of SPAP, and the Director of the Public Policy Lab. Professor Bo Qin holds a Bachelor of Engineering in urban planning from the Department of Architecture at Wuhan University in 2000. He also obtained a Master of Science in Human Geography from the Department of Urban and Environment Studies at Peking University in 2003, and a Ph.D. from the School of Design and Environment at the National University of Singapore in 2007.

His research interests include urban internal spatial structure, urban sustainable development, and urban governance in transitional economy. Recently his research has focused on spatial planning for age-friendly city and digital transformation of urban governance. He has published more than 100 articles in various international and Chinese academic journals in urban planning and urban studies, including the journals such as the Journal of American Planning Association, Landscape and Urban Planning, Urban Studies, etc. He has also completed 8 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, more than twenty consultant projects for the central and local governments, and authored/co-authored nine books in both Chinese and English.
