Vinod Tewari is a Former Professor in the Department of Policy Studies at TERI University in New Delhi, India. He teaches and writes on a variety of subjects related to urban policy, urban infrastructure management, quantitative urban modeling, public policy, geographic information systems, and research methodology. Prior to joining TERI University, Tewari served as Director of the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA), an autonomous body supported by the Government of India’s Ministry of Urban Development. As Director of NIUA, he worked closely with the government of India on issues related to urban policy formulation, municipal reform, and urban development program implementation and evaluation. Tewari has also worked with a number of state and municipal governments in India, as well as international agencies like the World Bank, ADB, USAID, UNICEF, CIDA, WHO, and UNDP on research studies, capacity building activities, policy advocacy, and carrying out urban development projects.
