In preparation for the U20 Summit in September 2020, Penn IUR collaborated with the Kleinman Center for Energy Policy and Perry World House to develop three white papers addressing critical issues facing cities worldwide. The papers provided frameworks and recommendations for transitioning to a sustainable circular economy, promoting sustainable production and consumption in the post-COVID era, and financing urban recovery from the pandemic while building resilience to future crises. These evidence-based policy insights fed into the U20 Communique delivered to the G20 leaders.
